Well the evil empire that is Canadian hockey finally announced their Sochi roster and let me just say it is scary good.
Forwards
Jaime Benn, Patrice Bergeron, Jeff Carter, Sidney Crosby, Matt Duchene, Ryan Getzlaf, Chris Kunitz, Patrick Marleau, Rick Nash, Patrick Sharp, Steven Stamkos, John Tavares, Johnathan Toews
Defense
Jay Bouwmeester, Drew Doughty, Dan Hamhuis, Duncan Keith, Alex Pietrangelo, P.K. Subban, Marc-Edouard Vlasic, and Shea Weber
Goaltenders
Roberto Luongo, Carey Price, and Mike Smith
Don't really need to go in depth with this. I agree with most of it. You hate to see Looch not make it only because of how hard he has been playing to get on the team. Hopefully it doesn't end up deflating him but who knows, it could make him play even better. Forwards a filthy for Canada. I know St. Louis and Thornton aren't on it but don't start complaining about experience when 11 players are returning from the last olympics. Excited to see Subban on the Olympic rink. I felt like it was between Subban and Letang. Can't really have both on the squad and at the end of the day you want the big shot blockers so I can see why Letang didn't make it. To be honest if they made a second Team Canada it could make some noise in the tournament. Probably gonna have Price between the pipes cause he is the hot hand but wouldn't be surprised if Luongo gets it cause of his experience. US is gonna struggle. Hate the Kane quote that it is Gold or Bust. Too much pressure especially because Russia got bounced early last year. But we will see what happens.
Ps Watch out for the Trinidad & Tobago team. Don't let them get one. They celly too hard!
